HOW DO WE USE YOUR DATA?

  1. Providing our services. We provide a range of services which require us to process personal data to carry out our customers’ instructions. For example, we collect the identity of the user, their IP address, the reason for payment and the details of the recipient, in order to carry out an international payment on their behalf. Except as explained in section 1(e) below, we are our customers’ data processor in these circumstances.

  2. When you contact us. When you contact us either by phone, email or via our website contact us page with general queries, we will usually collect your name and contact details, because it’s in our legitimate interest to make sure we can properly respond to your query.

  3. When you attend one of our events or a third party event we also attend. When you attend one of our events or we meet you at a third party event, we will usually collect your name, address, email address and phone number. At our own events we collect this information because it’s in our legitimate interests to know who’s attending our events; and at third party events, we collect this information because it is in our legitimate interests to promote our business.

  4. When you receive our news updates. We will handle your personal information (such as your name and email address) to provide you with our news updates in line with any preferences you have told us about.
    When we send you our news updates because you have opted-in to receive them, we rely on your consent to contact you. If you have not opted-in and we send you our news updates emails, we do this because of our legitimate interest to promote our business.
    You can unsubscribe from our updates at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails, or by emailing info@manocapfx.com.

  5. To maintain compliance and improve our business. We monitor the services we provide to ensure they continue to comply with the law, and to check that we are able to provide financial services to our customers. Practically, this means we conduct credit searches, review sanctions lists and carry out basic internet searches. We also record telephone calls, and regularly review our internal processes and data to improve our business. We process this information based on our legitimate interest to detect and prevent fraud, to maintain compliance and develop our business.

  6. Complying with legal requirements, regulators and professional bodies. As a financial services company, we are subject to legal, regulatory and professional obligations. We need to maintain records to demonstrate that our services are provided in compliance with these obligations, which may contain personal data, such as carrying out money laundering and anti-fraud checks. We collect this information to comply with our legal obligations.

 

WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH?

  1. Regulators, Authorities and Enforcement Agencies if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our clients or others. As a financial services company we are subject to regulators who may from time to time require us to share the personal data we hold. We will comply with requests to disclose data from our regulators. We will also exchange information with other companies and organisations, such as credit reference agencies, for the purposes of fraud protection.

  2. Business partners, suppliers and subcontractors, such as our IT service providers who help us run our business.

  3. Promotional events and marketing organisations, we do not sell data for marketing purposes, but may share your data with an event organiser including where we run workshops with co-presenters. We will always tell you before (usually on the event registration form) and you will be given the chance to opt-out before we do this.

  4. Prospective buyers of our business under our legitimate interest to ensure our business can be continued by the buyer.

HOW LONG DO YOU STORE MY DATA?

 

We retain the personal data processed by us for as long as is considered necessary for the purpose for which it was collected (including as required by applicable laws or regulations). In the absence of specific legal, regulatory or contractual requirements, our baseline retention period for records and other documentary evidence created in the provision of services is 7 years. After this point, data is deleted and related accounts deactivated.

 

WHERE IS MY DATA STORED?

 

We store your data in the cloud with a third party provider.

Whenever we transfer your personal information outside of the UK and the EU, we ensure it receives additional protection as required by law. To keep this privacy policy as short and easy to understand as possible, we haven’t set out the specific circumstances when each of these protection measures are used. WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS UNDER DATA PROTECTION LAWS?

You have various other rights under applicable data protection laws, including the right to:

  • Access your personal data (also known as a “subject access request”);

  • Correct incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you;

  • Ask us to erase the personal data we hold about you;

  • Ask us to restrict our handling of your personal data;

  • Ask us to transfer your personal data to a third party; 

  • Object to how we are using your personal data; and

  • Withdraw your consent to us handling your personal data.

 

Please keep in mind that privacy law is complicated, and these rights will not always be available to you all of the time.
